signposted to Rothbury, Bellingham Acomb and Wall.
- Drive through Acomb and Wall, shortly after this you reach a crossroads
(the Military Road).
- Go straight on, eventually you come under a large railway bridge and
into the Hamlet of Chollerton.
- Take the left fork to Barrasford (before the Parish Church).
- At the top of the hill is the Old Church.
Alternately You may find that by taking the A68 off the A1, the road is
more interesting, passing through little Durham villages and avoiding
the Metro Centre at Gateshead which can be very busy on Saturdays. The
A68 is just as quick and joins the A69 near Corbridge – turn left
at the roundabout on the A69 and follow directions from *(above)
